Haldrea

How we use your details

Last updated 8 October 2026

Who we are

Haldrea is a product being developed in England. Until the Haldrea company is set up, Peter Berkeley is personally responsible for your details (the "data controller"). For anything about your details, email us at hello@haldrea.com or reply to any email we have sent you.

What we collect

Only what you give us in the "Register your interest" form: your email address and country, what you would like Haldrea to watch (for example reptiles or a greenhouse), and, if you choose to give them, your name and whether you would like a numbered First Edition. If you arrived through a link from a social post, a shop, a creator or a friend, we also note that link's short tag. When you confirm your address we give you your own invite link, and we count how many people you invite confirm theirs. We note the date and time you ticked the consent box and which version of this page was in place, as our record of your consent. Your IP address is used for a moment to work out the town and country your connection appears to come from; we keep the town and country but do not store the IP address.

We use your answers to plan the First Edition (how many, which kits, which countries) and the link tags to learn which places people hear about Haldrea from. First Edition invitations go in the order people registered, and people whose invites lead to confirmed sign-ups may be invited earlier. We rely on your consent for all of this, and you can withdraw it at any time.

Why

To email you about Haldrea One, for example when it is ready to order, because you asked us to by ticking the box. We rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR / GDPR). We send you one email straight away asking you to confirm your address. Until you press the button in it, we do not email you again and we are not notified of your sign-up. If you do not confirm within 30 days, your details are deleted from our register; our email provider keeps its own delivery logs for a limited period. We do not send anything else unless there is real news.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying to any of our emails or using the unsubscribe link in them. Withdrawing does not affect emails we sent before you withdrew.

Who else handles it

Your details and the record of your consent are kept in our register. Cloudflare stores the register in the European Union, although it may be cached and processed elsewhere on Cloudflare's worldwide network under the safeguards described below. A copy is also in the email we receive when you confirm your registration. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details, we delete them and keep only a scrambled (hashed) form of your email address, which cannot easily be read back, so that we do not email you again by mistake. We keep that only for as long as we need it for this.

Cloudflare and Resend are both based in the United States, so your details may be processed outside the UK. Resend sends our emails from its Ireland (EU) region, but its main processing takes place in the United States. Both companies protect transfers with the standard contractual clauses as amended by the UK Addendum.

We do not sell or share your details with anyone else, and this site sets no cookies and uses no tracking or advertising tools.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to remove it, or we have had no contact with you for 24 months, or we stop developing Haldrea One, whichever comes first.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your details, to restrict or object to how we use them, or to receive a copy of them in a portable form, at any time by replying to any of our emails. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
